How are waste tires made into rubber powder and granules

Release time:2025-04-12

With the increase in the amount of scrapped tires, the amount of waste tires has increased rapidly and they are piled up everywhere, which not only takes up a lot of space, but also seriously deteriorates the ecological environment. Therefore, it is of great significance to reasonably recycle and utilize waste tires, make full use of renewable resources, and turn waste into treasure in order to build a conservation-oriented society.

At present, the common methods for producing rubber powder from waste tires are room temperature method and low temperature method. The low temperature method keeps the rubber at a low temperature during the rubber crushing, pulverizing and grinding process to obtain high quality and high efficiency, but the low temperature processing equipment requires a large investment and high operating cost, which is not conducive to large-scale promotion. The room temperature method for producing rubber powder from waste tires also has many disadvantages, such as: low crushing efficiency, low output, easy agglomeration, etc., and the metal and rubber separation process is not thorough, resulting in more metal impurities in the finished rubber powder.

Therefore, redeveloping a process for decomposing waste tires into fine rubber powder and effectively solving the problems of low production efficiency, incomplete separation of impurities and rubber, easy agglomeration of finished products, and many metal impurities has become an urgent problem to be solved in this industry.

A method for producing rubber powder from waste tires, comprising the following steps:

1. Raw material processing

First, the waste tires are sorted and cleaned, and the mud and oil on the top and side of the tire are cleaned, and the sand, screws and other debris on the tread are removed. Then, the waste tire blocks are cut into 3-5cm pieces by a ring cutter and stored in a raw material box. The outlet of the raw material box is equipped with a conveyor belt with adjustable speed and frequency to ensure continuous speed control feeding;

2. Coarse crushing and screening

The waste tire blocks in the raw material box in step 1 are coarsely crushed into rubber particles, and the metal impurities in the rubber particles are removed;

3. Abrasive mixture

The rubber particles obtained in step 2 are mixed with calcium carbonate powder and circuit board powder to form abrasives with uniform concentration;

4. Fine crushing and screening

The abrasive obtained in step 3 is finely crushed and screened to obtain fine rubber powder;

5. Packaging and storage

Furthermore, the first In step 3, the calcium carbonate powder accounts for 5-10% of the total mass of the abrasive; preferably 5%-8% of the total mass of the abrasive; further, the particle size of the calcium carbonate powder is more than 10 days; preferably 10-100 mesh;

Further, in step 3, the circuit board powder accounts for 3-5% of the total mass of the abrasive; preferably 4% of the total mass of the abrasive;

Further, the circuit board powder of the present invention is the residual slag powder after the precious metal components are extracted from the waste circuit board by dry or wet grinding, or the powder obtained by processing the scraps and waste thermosetting resin products that meet the performance requirements by the above method, and its particle size is more than 20 days, preferably 20-100 days, and the moisture content is S3%;

The above are the steps and methods for recycling waste tires into rubber powder and rubber particles. Yuteng Machinery has a complete tire recycling production line and rich experience and technology. If you are interested, please feel free to contact us.
