According to the circuit board factory, the price of waste circuit boards mainly depends on the content of precious metals in them. The waste circuit boards contain more precious metals, such as TV circuit boards, which cost about 30,000-40,000 yuan per ton. The metal content of one ton of computer boards is generally: 300-500g gold, 130kg copper, 10kg iron, 60k lead, 40kg tin, 36kg nickel and 40kg antimony, as well as a small amount of rare and precious metals such as palladium and platinum. Copper metal can account for more than 90% of the mixed metals.

 

The miscellaneous boards with average metal content and common in the market cost about 6,000 to 8,000 yuan per ton. The price of waste circuit boards varies depending on the region.

Circuit boards contain chips and electronic components, and the situation of the electronic components and chips also depends on them. Chips can be removed and sold separately. Circuit boards with removed chips will be much cheaper per ton than those without removed chips. Therefore, it is also recommended that you remove the chips and sell them separately after recycling the waste circuit boards.

Waste circuit boards are about 3 to 20 yuan per catty. The current basic market recycling price of waste circuit boards is about 3.8 yuan per catty. One ton is equal to 2,000 catties. 3.8 times 2,000 is about 7,600 yuan per ton. The price of general waste circuit boards ranges from 3 to 20 yuan per catty. For example, TV circuit boards are about 3.5 yuan, DVDs, CDs, computer hosts, etc. are better waste boards of 18 to 20 yuan, computer host power boxes are about 6 yuan, and computer host motherboards are about 22 yuan.

Classification of waste circuit boards, waste circuit boards include waste copper clad laminates (CCL), waste printed circuit boards (PCB), and printed circuit boards with integrated circuits and electronic devices (generally called waste circuit boards).

1. Waste copper clad laminate

Copper clad laminate is the raw material for producing printed circuit boards, mainly composed of substrate, copper foil and adhesive. The main materials of the substrate are synthetic resin and reinforcing materials, among which synthetic resin mainly includes phenolic resin, epoxy resin, polytetrafluoroethylene, etc., and reinforcing materials generally include paper and cloth.

The surface of the substrate is copper foil, which is produced by mechanical processing and electrolytic deposition. At present, electrolytic deposition is the main method of production. The thickness of copper foil is generally 18µm, 25µm, 35µm, 70µm, and 105µm. The copper foil is firmly adhered to the substrate with an adhesive to form a copper clad laminate.

The copper clad laminates currently used in large quantities in my country include phenolic paper copper clad laminates, epoxy paper copper clad laminates, epoxy glass cloth copper clad laminates, polytetrafluoroethylene copper clad laminates, and polyimide flexible copper clad laminates. Among them, mid-range and above civil electrical appliances and instruments use epoxy (paper or glass cloth) copper clad laminates, which are used in large quantities. Phenolic paper copper clad laminates are mostly used in mid- and low-end civil electrical appliances.

Waste copper clad laminates are defective products and scraps produced during the production process. They are yellow due to the pressed copper foil on the surface and are generally called yellow boards. The copper content of waste copper clad laminates varies, ranging from about 15% at the lowest to more than 70% at the highest. It is an important resource for recycling copper.

2. Waste circuit boards

PCB is abbreviated as PCB. Usually, the conductive pattern made of printed circuits, printed components or a combination of the two on the insulating material according to the predetermined design is called a printed circuit, and the conductive pattern that provides electrical connections between components on the insulating substrate is called a printed circuit. The finished board of printed circuits or printed circuits is called a printed circuit board.

Circuit boards are mainly used to provide support for the fixed assembly of various electronic components such as integrated circuits, realize the wiring and electrical connection or electrical insulation between various electronic components such as integrated circuits, and provide solder mask patterns for automatic soldering, and provide identification characters and patterns for component insertion, inspection, and maintenance.

HDI factory said that almost all electronic devices we can see have PCBs, such as calculators, computers, communication electronic equipment, military weapon systems, etc. As long as there are electronic components such as integrated circuits, PCBs are used for electrical interconnection between them. Common computer boards are basically double-sided printed circuit boards with epoxy resin glass cloth as the base, one side of which is the plug-in component and the other side is the component foot welding surface, and the solder joints are generally very regular.

The defective products produced during the production process of circuit boards are what we often call waste printed circuit boards, which are also called green boards because they are mainly green. When making printed circuit boards, although part of the copper has been corroded, making the copper content of printed circuit boards lower than that of copper-clad laminates, printed circuit boards are still one of the resources for recycling copper.

3.Waste circuit boards and cards Waste circuit boards and cards mainly come from various scrapped electrical appliances. There are many types, the most common of which are green boards and yellow boards. Green boards are mainly disassembled from waste televisions, computers, and communication equipment, and have higher value; yellow boards are mainly disassembled from tape recorders, audio equipment, washing machines, and air conditioners, and have lower value.

The composition of waste circuit boards is relatively complex. In addition to printed circuit boards, they also contain integrated circuits and various electronic components. The main components are silicon dioxide, copper foil, lead, tin, iron, trace amounts of precious metals and organic substances such as plastics, resins, and paints. Therefore, it is more difficult to handle than waste copper clad laminates and waste printed circuit boards.

In daily life, hundreds of millions of tons of discarded circuit boards are piled up. Once the circuit boards are piled up, they will cause harm to our ecological environment and human health over time.

If the circuit boards are not handled and disposed of properly, they will not only cause a large loss of useful resources, but also contain a large amount of teratogenic, mutagenic and carcinogenic substances, such as cadmium and brominated flame retardants, which will cause serious harm to the environment and human health.
